Yes, however, if you leave the water in contact with your Water Bottle Filter for a long period of time (over 48 hours), the mineral taste may become too strong. At this point, we recommended discarding the water and refilling your bottle.

How long does the Water Bottle Filter last?

The Water Bottle Filter lasts 3 months or 180 L / 48 gal.

Can I use my Water Bottle Filter in a larger container, such as a water jug or other pitcher?

Yes, however, the Santevia Water Bottle Filter is designed and tested within a size range of 500-700 ml. It is not designed to be used in larger containers, thus we cannot guarantee pH levels or level of filtration within 30 seconds.

Why does my Water Bottle Filter turn the water cloudy?

The cloudiness is caused by over-boiling of the filter in water. The primary component of the bioceramic balls in the Water Bottle Filter is calcium. High temperatures can damage the calcium coating of the bioceramic balls resulting in calcium solids in the water. We recommend only a short immersion of the Water Bottle Filter in warm water for sanitation of less than one minute. The calcium solids that make the water cloudy are not harmful for ingestion.

How do I prepare my Water Bottle Filter before use?

First Use

  • Rinse the filter under running tap water to get rid of excess filtration media

  • Place filter in a bottle or glass and add warm water

  • Shake or stir for 30 seconds

  • Discard water and repeat process until water is clear

How to Use Your Filter

  • Place filter in bottle or cup

  • Add water (warm or cold)

  • Shake or stir for 30 seconds. Leave stick in or take it out

How to Clean

  • Place filter in warm water

  • Let stand for 1-minute

  • Discard water

Please note hot or boiling water may damage the coating of the filtration media.
