Benefits

May support inflammation balance. Castor Oil contains 90% ricinoleic acid, a fatty acid that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties via a reduction of substance P1.

May support colon cleansing, constipation and better bowel movements. Oral Castor Oil is a well known laxative, however, a study done in an old age home compared Castor Oil Packs to conventional laxatives and they were shown to be just as effective for constipation, but without cramping and a harsh urgency to run to the bathroom2. Ricinoleic acid in Castor Oil has also been shown to support peristalsis of the smooth muscle of the digestive tract.

May support microbiome balance. Research in periodontal medicine has shown that Castor Oil is one of the only natural substances that can breakdown biofilm, a protective layer made by bad bacteria to prevent us from killing it. Castor Oil has also been shown to kill Candida.

May support better blood flow/circulation. Castor Oil has been shown to promote nitric oxide, an antioxidant that supports better blood flow and circulation. Nitric oxide has also been shown to kill Candida.

May reduce the appearance of age spots and hyperpigmentation. In a study on rat lenses, Castor Oil was shown to help preserve glutathione, a powerhouse antioxidant that may have skin-lightening benefits for age spots and/or hyperpigmentation.

Moisturizes and hydrates skin. Castor Oil is full of skin-loving nutrients including vitamin E, omegas and polyphenols. It’s extremely emollient and soothing for skin.

Conditioning for hair and scalp. The fatty acids in Castor Oil have been shown to condition and moisturize hair follicles14.

Restorative for nails. Because of Castor Oil’s emollient nature, it’s a great addition to your nail care routine for conditioning and softening cuticles.

Thickens lashes and eyebrows. A study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Science found that castor oil improved the luster of hair, making it the perfect moisturizer for lashes and eyebrows.

Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Since Castor Oil is a natural source of fatty acids and antioxidants, specifically ricinoleic acid, its moisturizing and free radical-fighting action may help to keep wrinkles at bay.

All in one beauty regiment. Castor Oil is the one stop shop for beauty. Known for hydrating the skin, as well as supporting healthy looking hair, lash & brows. Use Castor Oil in your morning and evening routines as a face wash, makeup remover, or in DIY recipes for face masks and exfoliating scrubs.

FAQs

Does Castor Oil need to be in a glass bottle?

Yes, castor oil should ALWAYS be bottled in glass because glass preserves, whereas plastic bottles may leach hormone-disrupting compounds into Castor Oil that may be carried into the body

Can I drink Castor Oil or take Castor Oil capsules?

While Queen of the Thrones® Castor Oil is food grade, it’s a stimulant laxative when taken orally that can cause cramping and make you rush to go to the bathroom. This castor oil is labelled for topical use only. Our preference to gently support constipation is to use it with the Queen of the Thrones® Castor Oil Pack.

Where do I store my Castor Oil?

Castor Oil can be kept at room temperature because it’s a very stable oil. Never store your oil in a plastic bottle. Avoid pre-combining Castor Oil with other skin oils or essential oils to maintain integrity of the oil.

How many bottles of Castor Oil will I need if I do a Castor Oil Pack every night?

The 16 oz (500mL) bottle of Castor Oil will last for about 35 uses, using 1 tbsp/use.
